About Susan
I am a retired registered nurse, a wife, and mother of 4 grown kids, and now a grandmother of 4 and counting!
About 10 years ago I was shown a process using silk roving called silk fusion. This process captured my imagination and over the last 10 years, I have used this process in many interesting and creative ways. This results in unique pieces of fabric art every time - even I don't know what the end product will look like!
Most recently I have discovered working with all-natural cork leather fabric, and the possibilities combined with silk fusion are endless. I make my own patterns, as well as using more established ones, and this creative process of experimenting is essential to my art.
7 years ago I attended my first artisan craft market and found it a great place to meet folks and sell my creations. I sell at markets and artist's collectives but I find I am now also ready to enter the world of online selling. Here on my website, you can find the link to my Etsy shop, where you can see all the possible combinations I offer [cork, fusion, hardware, zippers, pockets, etc] to put together your ideal bag/wallet/cuff or whatever else your heart desires! Get in touch with me via the email button below to discuss possibilities!
The creative process is exciting and necessary to provide balance in my life. As I enter retirement, this has become both my passion and my business.
I continue to cherish my time in the studio, finding new ways to use silk and other fibres, as well as resin and acrylic pours as I invent new bag patterns, create art pieces, and experiment with new artistic processes.
Have any questions? Reach out, I'm happy to chat!
